TWIN COACH (1937) from Dark Burn Media LLC on Vimeo.
William B. and Frank R. Fageol started a business in Oakland, California in 1916 manufacturing trucks for World War I. In 1927, after selling their previous business, the brothers developed a new model called the “Twin Coach.” The Twin Coach Company created the first public transportation vehicle built by anyone. William and Frank’s company ranked second world-wide in urban bus manufacturing for over 20 years. In 1953 diesel engines became more practical, and it left The Twin Coach Company’s gasoline engine buses in the dust. The plummeting sales numbers ultimately led to the sale of the company in 1955.
